Privacy Policy

1. Who we are
"Matchpredix" (operator of matchpredix.com) is the data controller for any personal data processed via this site. For privacy questions or data requests, contact rob@matchpredix.com.
2. What we collect
We do not require account signup. You can browse most of the site without providing any personal information. The data we do collect is minimal:

We do not collect: names, email addresses, phone numbers, payment details, location data, or any special-category data.
3. Cookies & localStorage
We do not use tracking cookies. Your browser stores a small amount of data locally (in localStorage) to remember your accumulator selections and admin preferences — this never leaves your device. Cloudflare may set a strictly-necessary cookie (__cf_bm) for bot protection; this is exempt from consent requirements under PECR.
4. Why we process your data (legal basis)
We rely on the following lawful bases under UK GDPR Article 6:
- Legitimate interests — for security logs, basic analytics, and ensuring the service runs reliably
- Consent — for any optional analytics or marketing features (none currently in use)
- Contract — affiliate tracking, where applicable, to fulfil our agreements with partner bookmakers
5. Third parties
We share data with the following service providers, each of whom has their own privacy policy:
- Cloudflare (hosting, CDN, security, web analytics) — privacy policy
- Affiliate bookmakers (only when you click a bookie link — they then collect their own data subject to their privacy policy)
- Data sources (football-data.co.uk, the Odds API, FBref, API-Football, Betfair Exchange) — these provide football data to us, not the other way round; no user data flows to them
We do not sell or rent your data to anyone.
6. Data retention
Cloudflare's server logs retain IP addresses for up to 7 days for security purposes. Aggregated analytics data has no expiration. localStorage data persists in your browser until you clear it. We do not retain any personal identifiers beyond these limits.
7. International transfers
Cloudflare operates a global edge network; your request may be served from a server outside the UK or EEA. Cloudflare uses Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission and the UK ICO to ensure appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
8. Your rights under UK GDPR
You have the right to:
- Access any personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data
- Request deletion ("right to be forgotten")
- Object to or restrict processing
- Data portability (where applicable)
- Withdraw consent at any time (where consent is the basis)
- Lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO)
To exercise any of these rights, email rob@matchpredix.com. We aim to respond within one calendar month as required by UK GDPR.
9. Children's privacy
This site is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe we hold data on someone under 18, please contact us and we will delete it.
10. Security
All traffic to matchpredix.com is encrypted via HTTPS. Server-side data is protected by Cloudflare's enterprise-grade security infrastructure. We follow industry best practices for keys, secrets, and access control.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our practices evolve or the law changes. The "last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be noted prominently on the site.
